Nerdfighteria Network is pleased to report a positive end to our fiscal year. We had a modest income, and relatively small expenses. The overall gain is enough to keep us comfortably in the black for a while. The amount of money we deal with is small; our gross income for the year was just $84. Alaska, as our BNC server, more than paid itself off, generating $21 in BNC payments to cover its $13.30 yearly cost. We also received generous donations, less than half of which asked for a vHost in return.$7 of that was from a BNC payment, $15 from a donation, and $25 from a vHost. While the majority of our servers are still paid for by their administrators, we we were able to pay for our domain name this year entirely out of the network’s funds. We started out the year with just $1.93 in our PayPal account, but after this year we now have $56.57.
So, by the numbers for Q4:
Income: Donations 10.00 vHosts 5.00 ------------------ Total 15.00 Expenses: PayPal 1.35 Alaska 13.30 ----------------- Total 14.70 Grand Total 0.30
And for FY2013:
Income: Donations 33.00 vHosts 30.00 BNCs 21.00 ------------------ Total 84.00 Expenses: PayPal 5.37 Alaska 13.30 Domain name 10.69 ----------------- Total 29.36 Grand Total 54.64
- Legally speaking, the network is not incorporated. This means nothing is legally under the network’s name, but it is agreed that Alaska will be paid out of donations and payments to the network, rather than being run on donated server time. Incorporation is something we would like to look into in the future, but it does cost money, and a fair amount of it. Also worth noting here is that, since we are not incorporated, we are also not what’s called a 501(c)(3). This means that your donations to us, regardless of whether you receive anything in return, are not tax-deductible.
